Before & Afterschool
and Summer Programs!
Our new facility, now open for enrollment, launched in November 2023, and is dedicated to providing the best possible care for children aged six weeks to 12 years. We offer an outstanding Before & Afterschool Program, as well as an exciting Summer Camp Program!
INFANT ONE - Our Itty Bitties
(6 weeks to 12 months)
During these early months, infants are completely on their own schedules. Our teachers carefully anticipate feeding and nap schedules based upon the patterns of the infant and take advantage of quiet-alert times for cognitive activities. Tummy time is provided for infants who are developmentally ready.
Infant Two - Our Cruisers
(12 months to 18 months)
During these later infant stages, we begin to use a more uniform schedule. However, all routines are adjusted whenever needed to suit the individual needs of the infant.

Toddler One (18-30 months)
As your baby becomes a toddler, they walk, talk, and start to interact with one another. Through careful observation, our teachers develop individualized activity plans to continue to strengthen these newly developing skills.
Toddler Two (30-36 months)
As toddlers advance to preschool, they become more independent and comprehend make-believe. Our teachers play a vital role in teaching social and emotional skills and self-control to support their growth. Your toddler will thrive in our “preschool prep” program!
Preschool (3-4 years) & Prekindergarten (4-kdg)
Our teachers use the Creative Curriculum as a foundation for building their lesson plans, carefully aligning all activities to Ohio’s Early Childhood Standards. Our lesson planning process begins with getting to know the children. Teachers choose a subject that the children are interested in learning about. From both formal and informal observations, teachers are able to individualize and develop future activities based on the interests that the children reveal.
Within 60 days of enrollment, each preschooler is screened using the Ages & Stages Questionairre (ASQ) and the Devereaux Early Childhood Assessment (DECA) to determine his or strengths as well as areas we can work to improve. Thereafter, our teachers assess the children quarterly using the Ohio Department of Education’s Early Learning Assessment (ELA).
SCHOOLAGE PROGRAMS
In addition to providing transportation to Barberton Primary School, Discovericlub West is conveniently located on the Norton City Schools bus route.From kindergarten through 12 years, our teachers focus on team building, reducing risk-taking behaviors and supporting classroom learning. Through our “Appreciative Inquiry,” our teachers strive to foster a positive environment. Lesson plans are individualized to maintain an afterschool program that is both interesting and enriching for every schoolage child.
